Alexandra Llewellyn Raises Money for HIV Charity
Ten limited edition backgammon boards have been created by Brand to Trust Alexandra Llewellyn Design.
The latest designs will be sold in order to benefit HIV and sexual health charity, Terrence Higgins Trust.
Alexandra Llewellyn herself is a long-standing supporter of the charity, which is the UK’s leading and largest HIV and sexual health charity.
The first of the edition of the ‘Lily’ design was auctioned at Christies in March, raising £10,000 for the charity.
The director of fundraising at Terrence Higgins Trust, Sonya Trivedy, said the trust are thrilled that Alexandra has chosen the charity; and with more people living with HIV in the UK than ever before, the money raised can help to support those living with the virus to have healthy, happy lives.
The beautifully hand-crafted boards are both decorative and functional, and are an ideal piece for aesthetes and game lovers alike.
Alexandra first launched her range of backgammon boards in December 2010, creating a truly unique vision of the oldest recorded board game in the world. The luxury games designer works with a team of master craftsman who each specialize in different techniques and materials.
