Meditation hit the mainstream last year, as ever more people sought moments of mindfulness in their increasingly busy lives. If you didn’t pick it up in 2016, it’s not too late to try. You can find meditation courses across the country, or try the Headspace app if you’d rather give it a go at home. Fitting in a few minutes of quiet and contemplation into your schedule from the first few days of the year can really improve your mental health and productivity.

If sitting still isn’t your thing, then why not boost those endorphins with some outdoor activity instead.
