Meet the Members of the Multi-Purpose Beauty Brigade

I’m sure I’m not the only one ladies, but I just can’t get enough of multi-purpose beauty products. It’s something about knowing that you can float out the door with a half empty make-up bag, still knowing that you’ll have all the products you’ll ever need. I mean, who wants to buy more products than they actually need? No, no, not me.

If you’re not familiar with the feeling, let me enlighten you. I’ve picked six beauty wonders to give you a head start in the multi-functional stakes.

Renouve hand sanitizer | About as posh as hand sanitizers get. Not only will it kill 99.9% of germs but it’ll also protect your hands; one of the first places to show signs fragility from ageing.

Amorocco’s beauty serum | This stuff is pretty much what the term ‘multi-purpose’ was coined in aid of. Rub this rich argan oil into hair, skin or nails. It’s even an effective treatment acne, eczema chicken-pox, stretch marks and cellulite.

Benefit’s Benetint lip & cheek tint | Certainly not an original choice, but always a classic. This beautiful pinky red tint will suit all skin tones and can be worn on the lips or cheeks for a youthful pop of colour. For an extra giggle, we found out it was originally made in the 70s for an exotic dancer who needed something to “enhance her nipples while dancing.” Yep, you’re welcome.

Neal’s Yard Wild Rose Beauty Balm | Pure decadence in a very fragrant tub. Use this as a cleanser, a gentle exfoliant or as a soothing moisturizer. Who said a skincare regime had to come in three steps?

Nourish’s Golden glow toning soufflé | For those of you still clinging onto the last vestiges of your holiday tan this could be your lifeline. The light reflecting particles in the formula are developed to give the individual a sun-kissed glow whilst simultaneously toning and smoothing. If anything is going to have us looking like Giselle, it’s this.

Aveda’s Petal essence face accents in hibiscus| Last but certainly not least, where would we be without the old blusher, highlighter, contouring combo. A product that virtually pioneered multipurpose makeup. The soft coral blush will work with most skin tones then sweep a little of the highlighter along the cheek and browbones. Voila, instant cheekbones. You could even sweep a little bit of the highlighter into the corner of your eyes for a bright eyed wide awake look or perhaps dab a little onto your cupids bow for fuller more defined lips.
