Monthly Must-Have: Krug Grande Cuvée
In our monthly must-have, Positive Luxury selects an iconic item from our #brandstotrust that we’ve been coveting. June’s pick reflects the celebratory feel of summer and the prevalence of weddings on our calendar – it’s Krug Grande Cuvée of course!
Krug Grande Cuvée is the archetype of Krug’s philosophy of craftsmanship and savoir-faire. Each bottle is the result of over twenty years of craftsmanship, blended from more than 120 wines from ten or more different years to create an exceptional and elegant champagne.
The art of blending gives Krug Grande Cuvée a unique plethora of flavours and aromas that would be impossible to express using wines from the same year. Tasting notes include nutty flavours of toasted bread or nougat, hints of sweet apples, blooming flowers and honey, along with a freshness that is reminiscent of tangy grapefruit.
Look out for the Krug ID on each bottle of champagne to help you understand the individual nature of Krug Grande Cuvée. Scan this six digit number to reveal the unique content relating to your bottle of champagne – from harvest challenges of the year to inspirational food pairings.
Krug Grande Cuvée really epitomises the story of the champagne house and its founder Joseph Krug. In 1843, he began a tradition of respecting the individuality of each plot and its wine to ensure he could create the very best champagne every single year, regardless of annual variations in the climate.
This philosophy remains central to Krug today. The house works tirelessly to nurture its relationship with its growers and nourish the land on which the vines grow, through an utmost respect for nature that promises the protection of its environment for many years to come.
