IF ONLY IF NIGHTWEAR

If Only If Nightwear is a family-owned business creating seasonless, timeless designs with a particular focus on the effortless comfort and grace of the nightdress. Set up by Issy Falkner in 2014 and taken over and re-branded by her daughter Emily Campbell in 2020, family is at the core of the brands story and feeds into their nostalgic yet timeless creations. The brand is heavily focused on their customer and inclusion, selling to a wide spread of ages as well choosing to carry an extended size range for ladies throughout their designs (available in UK 6-24).

SUSTAINABILITY PURPOSE

If Only If discards normal fashion trends, opting for a slower, more mindful approach to new products and collections. It avoids mass production, instead focusing on a close production line where each nightie is part of a small, hand-finished batch. The brand aims to price fairly, sell out, and prevent excess clothing from going to waste. Its designs are largely seasonless, crafted exclusively from natural fabrics that are both breathable and biodegradable. New collections are typically launched for high summer and cooler autumn, while the core collection of seasonless styles remains available year-round.

Sustainable Procurement

if only if nightwear

During their assessment journey, If Only If Nightwear made significant steps in improving sustainable procurement by developing a robust Supplier Code of Conduct. This initiative formalised their long-standing, transparent relationship with their main supplier, ensuring alignment with high ethical and environmental standards. The brand’s commitment to sustainable procurement is further reflected in their use of exclusively natural and responsibly sourced materials, including recycled cotton, GOTS-certified organic cotton, and OEKO-TEX-certified linens. These certifications guarantee not only the quality of the materials but also adherence to stringent environmental and social criteria. By integrating the Supplier Code of Conduct into their procurement strategy, If Only If Nightwear has strengthened accountability across their supply chain while reinforcing their dedication to ethical sourcing and premium craftsmanship.

Circularity

if only if nightwear

With the support of Positive Luxury, If Only If Nightwear developed a Circularity, Waste, and Packaging Policy to strengthen their circularity initiatives. This policy outlines their approach to fabric use, waste reduction, and responsible packaging, including current practices and future targets. Minimising waste is a non-negotiable for the brand. Every metre of fabric ordered is utilised, with deadstock materials repurposed into their accessories collection. Additionally, all nightdresses are packaged in off-cut fabric bags, which not only prevent fabric waste but also help customers protect their garments, ensuring longevity and wearability for years to come. They offer free repairs for nightdresses within the first year of purchase, promoting repair over disposal.

Health, Safety & Human Rights

If Only If Nightwear is deeply committed to upholding health, safety, and human rights across their internal operations and supply chain. To ensure accountability, the human rights section within their Supplier Code of Conduct is based on the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code which stems from international labour and human rights law. Additionally, If Only If has visibility of their supplier’s SMETA audits that monitor compliance with ethical and safety standards. The brand also introduced a dedicated Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy, reinforcing their zero-tolerance approach to exploitation and unethical practices. These measures ensure that both their internal teams and external suppliers operate with transparency, fairness, and respect, aligning with If Only If Nightwear’s sustainability purpose to responsible and ethical business practices.

A WORD FROM THE OWNER

In 2011, my mum, Issy, founded If Only If in a bid to revive the nighties she wore and loved as a child: timeless, elegant styles in enduring, natural materials. Designed in house and made in India in a thoughtful, slow fashion. Since taking over the brand in 2020, I have continued to stay true to our values and deepen our customers love affair with this wardrobe staple. The brand isn’t just nightwear; it’s a celebration of women, age, and sustainable craftsmanship. Creating every day, loved pieces that bring beauty and comfort to those that wear them.
