CLIMATE

Roja Parfums

In 2024, ROJA Parfums implemented a tracking system to accurately monitor energy consumption. The business has defined its strategy for resource efficiency and impact reduction that will focus on energy conservation and logistics footprint reduction. They have identified energy intensity across operations and defined key roles and responsibilities for each core department to improve performance. In terms of logistics, ROJA company policy and practice requires all inbound and outbound freight or shipping to be transported via lowest impact methods in partnership with BDM that employs coordinated route planning, methods of reduced fuel consumption and reduced exhaust emissions. The next steps in ROJA’s climate strategy include setting reduction targets and conducting a carbon assessment.

WASTE & CIRCULARITY

Roja Parfums

ROJA has implemented a waste tracker and is accurately measuring waste across all of the relevant categories. 91% of all waste is recycled, with mixed paper being the most intensive waste category. Subsequently, the business has conducted a thorough packaging audit to identify ways to reduce waste, increase the use of post-consumer recycled materials used in packaging and ensure recyclability, thus promoting circularity. To date, ROJA has reduced waste from product samples by 80%, reduced plastic protective layering in transit, in turn lowering plastic usage in transit packaging by 67%, and reduced package sizing, enabling a reduction in cardboard for packaging and void fill. Silk and flock packaging inserts will be phased out completely by December 2024 and all packaging material is now either recycled or recyclable. 30% of glass used in ROJA’s products are post-consumer recycled.

PATHWAY TO HIGHER STANDARDS

As a company creating niche, contemporary perfumes, ROJA understands the importance of protecting the planet. Perfumery is an art form that draws its resources from the natural world. These raw materials are the very life source that allows the creation of beautiful olfactive art pieces. As a result, ROJA recognises the importance of operating in the most sustainable way possible. Working with Positive Luxury provides an opportunity for ROJA to ensure the brand is managed with ethics at the forefront of every decision. The company is delighted to be a partner and to contribute its small part to a greater good.
